First let me say that our boys had a great time at camp. I am sure they will have many fond memories of the first ever Cub Jamboree. This is in large part due to the dedicated work of many volunteers like yourself, so thank you again for your contribution to a great week. It was an amazing week and I was glad to be a part of history as we mark the end of the first century of scouting and embark on the second century. The program events where great, with plenty of activities to keep the youth busy and entertained while they also learned something about the environment, nature or astronomy.
I could probable go on and on about the good stuff, our group had so much fun there that we are hoping that your team of planners were serious about throwing another one in 2010 for the 100 years of Cubing. Your idea of the sub camp chiefs being in contact with packs with in there area was a great idea

First of all, we (cubs and leaders) enjoyed the Centennial Cub Jamboree very much. It was extremely well organised, the activities were cub oriented, the camp was an excellent place to have the jamboree, the food was great and the water supply was excellent. (from Quebec)

Just wanted to let you know that my son Zac had an amazing time at CCJ. Thanks for helping to run this program for Cub age kids.
I'm looking forward to the next one (hopefully not at the same time as a CJ) and I'm sure I'll be bringing a pack with me and not missing the event.
Please pass along to those who you worked with how amazing a time my son had. He could have gone to CJ but we decided he'd have more fun at CCJ and he did.

Welcome to the First Edition of the CCJHowler

The excitement of the Centennial Cub Jamboree (CCJ) 2010 is escalating as we move into the final months of preparation. The committee has been planning for over a year for this event. Planning has been moving along at an incredible pace and the excitement is building throughout the province as we will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Scouting in Ontario.

This is an amazing time for Ontario Scouting and an incredible time to be part of the best youth organization. We can take pride in being part of a dynamic organization that reflects the needs and interests of today’s youth as we help create a better world.

Try to imagine 185 acres of breath-taking scenery with cedar, mixed and dense bush, small limestone caves, majestic cliffs, large open fields, and the beautiful Eramosa River flowing through it. This is what you will see when you attend Camp Everton, located just outside of Acton. It is truly amazing to stand at camp and look around and visualize what it will look like the week of July 25-31, 2010. CCJ10 will have countless tents, marquees, trailers, and over 750 youth and adults from all over Canada. It’s enough to take your breath away.

Our Planning Committees are working towards providing a wonderful, awesome, epic week. Fill out an Offer of Service (OOS) form at the following link on the website.

Whether you want to express your creative talents, expand your natural world knowledge, test your coordination and dexterity, or just have plain fun, you can do all of that at CCJ10. There are 4 program days – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday of which 3 are rotational-style days at camp and 1 is offsite. After supper, evening programs and several activities have been selected for your enjoyment and participation. On Wednesday, you will participate in the 100th Anniversary Celebration Day.

Registrations are pouring in, so if you are plan on attending, don’t delay! Send those applications in right away.
